About me


My name is Nkeiruka, the founder of Arise Psychotherapy and Counselling Services.

In my native language, “Nkeiruka” means the best is yet to come—a philosophy that reflects the heart of my practice. I believe that no matter how difficult life may feel right now, positive change is always possible with the right support.

I care deeply about walking alongside individuals and couples through life's many challenges—from navigating trauma and loss, managing complex relationship dynamics, to coping with the unique pressures of modern living that often leave us feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree of Divinity in Counselling. I am registered as a Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Additionally, I am a member of the Ontario association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or identity crisis or self-esteem issues, individual therapy provides a supportive environment to foster growth and healing.

  • I support couples navigate the complexities of their relationships, improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their bond. Couples therapy is beneficial for partners at any stage of their relationship, whether you're dating, engaged, married, or facing challenges. I also support engaged couples with pre-marital counselling.

  • I work with families to address dynamics, improve communication, and foster a healthier, more supportive environment. Family therapy can help address issues such as parenting challenges, sibling conflicts, and major life transitions.

  • I provide a confidential safe space for individuals to share experiences in, learn from one another, and support each other in a group setting. Group therapy offers a sense of community and belonging, helping participants feel less isolated in their struggles.

  • I work with individuals, couples and families across the lifespan from 16 -65 years and above.

  • I welcome and support clients from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, with a dedicated focus on serving Black individuals and people of colour. My practice is inclusive of LGBTQIA+ individuals and neurodivergent clients, honoring the fulness of each person’s lived experience, identity and voice.

Finding the right therapist is a vital step in your healing journey. To ensure we are a good fit for working together, I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone consultation. This initial meeting allows us to discuss your needs, goals, and your concerns.

During our consultation we will do the following:

  • Explore Your Needs: I will listen to your challenges and concerns and what you hope to achieve through therapy.

  • Discuss My Approach: I will explain my therapeutic methods and how they can be tailored to your unique situation.

  • Answer Questions: You can ask any questions you have about the therapy process, my background, or my experience.

  • Evaluate Fit: Together, we will determine if my approach aligns with your needs and if we feel comfortable working together.

The consultation is designed to give you a sense of who I am, and how we can work together collaboratively to support your well-being.
